PACSCL Hidden Collections Processing Project
The webpage, which includes a blog, documents the “Hidden Collections in the Philadelphia Area: A Consortial Processing and Cataloging Initiative” Project. Twenty-four (24) participating institutions aimed to reveal the greatest “hidden collections” to researchers through this innovative and exciting endeavor. To accomplish this project, the team members employed minimal processing techniques, consortial efforts, and the Archivists' Toolkit. The project hoped to not only meet the team members' goals of revealing more collections to researchers, but to also develop a model for large and small institutions to reduce their own backlogs and increase researchers' access to collections. The blog posts contain many good tips and pieces of advice concerning the use of Archivists' Toolkit and minimal processing techniques for both large and small repositories.
